to the larger community, including the University of Iowa, University
of Kansas, Washington University in St. Louis, Prairie View A&M
University, other institutions, government, and industry.
Context
- The Center for Environmentally Beneficial Catalysis was
established to develop environmentally beneficial processes
that are also stable and economically viable, and to educate,
formally and informally, future engineers and scientists.
- These students will be uniquely trained in the engineering,
science and optimization of environmentally beneficial, economically
viable catalytic processes.
- Through outreach programs, the public will be informed of
the Centers role in developing greener chemistry.
- In order to promote the educational goals held by the Center,
the Student Leadership Council (SLC) was developed to promote
self-leadership among undergraduate and graduate students
supported by the Center.
- While working with supervising faculty from academia and
industry, the SLC shall bring together students from the three
institutions to ensure the sharing of knowledge and promotion
of educational objectives outlined by the Center.
Aims
- Provide leadership for the undergraduate and graduate students
of the Center for Environmentally Beneficial Catalysis, including
The University of Iowa, The University of Kansas, Washington
University in St. Louis, and Prairie View A&M University.
